Superstar Rajinikanth met Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa and presented a cheque for Rs. 10 Lakhs as compensation for the damage done by the ‘Thane’ storm.

The regions of Cuddalore, Villupuram and the Union Territory of Pondicherry were devastated due to the Thane storm.  The death toll was 48.  Many lost residences.  Farmers plunged into worry due to damage to crops.  Only currently, Cuddalore is reviving from the devastating effect of the storm.  Tamil Nadu government is distributing relief funds to the affected.

Superstar Rajinikanth felt like donating to the relief fund.  Following this, he visited Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa in the Chief Secretariat and donated cheque for amount Rs. 10 Lakhs.  Many higher officials were besides during the occasion.

Following that, Rajinikanth spoke to the reporters ‘I met Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa on a courtesy call.  I thanked her for wishing good health.  Soon I will meet my fans through a new movie.’

This is the first time Rajinikanth is meeting Jayalalitha after recuperation.
