And he celebrated his birthday quietly today (July 28) on the sets of Maapillai in Pollachi.

It was for the first time that Dhanush was shooting on his birthday, as he missed his family. His son Yatra wished him early in the morning, followed by wife Aishwarya and father-in-law Rajninikant and brother Selvaraghavan.

Dhanush had to be in Pollachi as the entire unit including the two important female characters in the film Manisha Koirala and Hansika Motwani were shooting combination scenes for the first time.

Fans across southern Tamil Nadu turned up early in the morning to wish him on his birthday. He cut a cake organized by them and posed for pictures. The best news he got was that his sister Karthika, delivered a baby girl, the first girl in the second generation in Kasturi Raja family
