Abbas is currently acting in Kannada film Appu Pappu. While speaking about this, he said,” My last film in Kannada was Shanthi Shanthi Shanthi in the year 2000.After that I am acting in a Kannada film only now.

Initially when I was busy in Tamil films, I was not able to concentrate in other languages. I was a chocolate hero. I was bored of this image. Later on I got character and villain roles. I wanted to these kind of roles. Now I will be acting in a Tamil and Telugu film.
